Sticker Showdown turns images players upload into cards, so safety is built into every step. This page explains what we do and how to get something removed.
What happens to every upload
- Only images hosted by Discord are downloaded. The bot never fetches other web addresses.
- Hidden metadata such as GPS location is stripped, and the image is resized.
- The image is checked against a blocklist of images moderators have already removed, including edited or recompressed copies.
- An automatic check on our own server scans it for nudity and sexual content. If the check can’t run, nothing is printed.
- When a player spends an AI token to have the AI (Anthropic’s Claude) write a card, the AI also checks the picture. It refuses real attacks and disasters, terrorist or extremist symbols, gore, hate symbols and private details such as ID cards, and sends borderline pictures to the server’s moderators to look at. A picture refused by the automatic nudity check doesn’t use a card token.
- Card names, whether players type them or the AI writes them, are checked by an automatic filter for swearing and slurs.
Custom enemies: pictures a server admin adds as that server’s enemies go through the same checks, and admins confirm the rule about photos of real people before adding any.
How to report a card or enemy
Tap 🚩 Report under any card or enemy, or use /report with the card’s name. You can choose:
- 🛑 Child safety, 🔞 sexual, 🩸 violent or 🏴 terrorist/extremist content: the card and every copy of the image the bot posted are deleted straight away. Nobody looks at it. You’ll be asked to report the original message to Discord too, so Discord’s safety team can act on it. (To stop misuse, one person can remove or hide at most 5 cards straight away in 24 hours. After that, a card is removed once three different people report it.)
- 🙋 This is me: if a card or enemy shows you and you didn’t agree to it, it is hidden immediately and passed to that server’s moderators. You don’t need to be a player.
- 😡 Hate or bullying, ©️ copyright or anything else: the report goes to that server’s moderators, who can keep or remove the card. It is hidden straight away if three different people report it, or if a server moderator does. A custom enemy reported for hate or bullying is hidden straight away.
Removed images can be blocked from being uploaded again, in every server, including edited or resized copies. Card owners can also delete their own cards, and server members with Manage Messages can delete any card in their server.
Serious illegal content
We report suspected child sexual abuse material and other serious illegal content to the relevant authorities, such as the Internet Watch Foundation, the National Crime Agency or the police. Accounts that break the rules can be banned from the bot in every server.
Your data
Use ⚙️ Settings → 🗑️ Delete my data or /delete_my_data to remove your cards, uploaded images and progress in every server straight away. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
